Top 10 New Year Eve Parties In Dubai

Record breaking fireworks are not Dubai’s only highlights this New Year’s Eve.

As 2014 comes to a close, global celebrities and singers are descending into the city to entertain its legions of partygoers. Gulf Business looks at some of the top parties and events around the city (in no particular order).

1. #DXBNYE at Meydan Hotel

#DXBNYE is creating the buzz for all the right reasons courtesy a star-studded event that will be held at Meydan. The party will feature Pharrell Williams, who is performing for the first time in Dubai along with top DJs Dmitri Vegas and Like Mike. Busta Rhymes, Paul Oakenfold, Charlie XCX, Sky Blu and Seb Fontaine will also be performing.

Partygoers are also promised of a view of the Burj Khalifa. Doors open at 8pm. General admission costs Dhs395 in advance and Dhs495 at the door. Party pit including five beverage coupons will cost Dhs1,495 in advance and Dhs1,695 at the door.

2. Masterjam 2014 at Media City Amphitheatre

If you are a fan of 70s and 80s music, Masterjam 2014 could fit your bill. Popular music family The Jacksons will be performing live at the event followed by Chaka Khan. Other singers such as Kathy Sledge of Sister Sledge, Gloria Gaynor, Jocelyn Brown, Nile Rodgers and the British band Incognito will also add on to the music extravaganza. Tickets are priced at Dhs495and Dhs595. Doors open at 6pm.

3. Nancy Ajram & Melhem Zein Concert at Intercontinental

Lebanese pop singer Nancy Ajram is all set to woo her fans during a New Year Eve concert in Dubai. She will be accompanied by the Lebanese singer Melhem Zein. The concert is set to take place at the Al Ras Ballroom in Intercontinental Hotel, Festival City, Dubai. Doors open at 8pm with tickets at Dhs1,500, Dhs2,500, Dhs3,500 and Dhs6,000.

4. Cavalli Club at Fairmont

The club will present ‘Imagine’, a New Year Eve Tale for its visitors. Busta Rhymes is also scheduled to perform for all Cavalli Cub patrons on New Year’s Eve. Doors open at 9pm with tickets for women priced at Dhs950 and Dhs1, 250 for men. Open bar on select beverages till 3am.

5. Blue Carpet Party at Meydan Beach, JBR

The party promises a special performance by Bulgarian artists titled “The Secret Garden Show” that encompasses costume and dance shows. The party will also have beats put together by top DJs and will offer a great view of the New Year’s Eve fireworks.

Doors open at 7pm and will remain open till 4am. Tickets are priced at Dhs250 per person while table charges range from Dhs10,000 to Dhs20,000.

6. Cirque Le Soir, Fairmont

Cirque Le Soir will be hosting a New Year’s Eve concert featuring American singer singer and music producer Chris Willis. He will be joined on stage by the dance duo Les Twins. Entry fee for the concert costs Dhs200 for women and Dhs300 for men. Timings are from 10.30pm to 3.00am.

7. Zero Gravity at Dubai Marina

Keen for some music that sets you grooving? Then Zero Gravity could be the place to welcome the new year. International electro giants Groove Armada is all set to perform at the club’s New Year’s Eve party along with house DJ, Hot Since 82, dances and other support acts.

Doors open at 8pm with tickets priced at Dhs350 for advance purchases and Dhs450 at the door. VIP passes will cost Dhs1,499 and include exclusive use of the Zero Gravity upper deck, plus unlimited dining options and premium beverages from 8pm to 3am.

8. Provocateur at Four Seasons

The latest entrant into Dubai’s club scene Provocateur is also offering a lively line-up for New Year celebrations. Famous Dutch disc jockey, VDJ, and record producer Sander Kleinenberg, known for his remixes of top artists, will perform in the concert at the club to ring in the New Year. Timings are from 10.00pm to 4.00am.

9. Atlantis Kids Club

Looking for New Year Eve parties for your children? NYE Pajama Party at the Glow Stick Disco at Atlantis could be that place. Attendees can also watch fireworks on the beach later on in the evening. The dress code for the party is strictly pajamas. Doors open at 8.30pm with tickets costing Dhs250 per child.

10. Club Rush at Atlantis

There is a party for all age groups at Atlantis this new year eve. The Exclusive Black and White NYE Party at Club Rush in Atlantis caters to teenagers from 13 years to 18 years. Dress code is either black or white for the party, which will also have karaoke competitions.

Timings for the party will be from 9pm to 2am with tickets priced at Dhs70 per person.
