Home GCC UAE Tourists flying to Dubai do not need GDRFA/ICA approvals – Air India Express Dubai reopened to tourists last month by Aarti Nagraj August 23, 2020 Tourists who have valid visas for the UAE do not require any approvals from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) or Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), Indian airline Air India Express has reconfirmed. “Please note that tourists with valid visa/visa on arrival are not required to get any approvals from GDRFA/ICA,” the airline said on Twitter. Kindly check the recent information before you start your journey. — Air India Express (@FlyWithIX) August 23, 2020 For Indians with UAE tourist visas and travelling to Dubai and Sharjah, the passport and related documents accepted for entry must have a minimum six-month validity from the arrival date. “We recommend you purchase travel insurance that includes health coverage before your trip,” the airline stated. Currently, only repatriation and special flights are being operated between the UAE and India. Read: Dubai reopens to international tourists Message from regional hospitality leaders: Dubai is open “Passenger traffic is on a daily rise with the numbers of arrival and departure passengers reflecting a 5 per cent daily increase,” Major General Mohammed Al Marri, director general of the GDRFA said on Saturday. “We are hopeful that by the end of the year, traffic will return as it was at the start of the year. We are optimistic and we are working as one team with Dubai Airports,” he added.
