Home Industry Politics Trump is a ‘loose cannon’ – senior Dubai businessman Khalaf Al Habtoor says US presidential candidate Trump is “dangerous” by gulfadmin May 8, 2016 A senior Dubai-based businessman has labeled United States presidential candidate Donald Trump a “loose cannon”. Khalaf Al Habtoor, the chairman of Dubai-based conglomerate Al Habtoor Group, reiterated his earlier stance that the election of Trump would be disastrous for the Arab region. In an interview with Bloomberg Markets Middle East last week, Al Habtoor said: “I call him a loose cannon, very dangerous to the world, very dangerous to the world.” If Trump were elected US President, Arab-US relations would deteriorate, he added. Al Habtoor had written an opinion piece supporting Trump as a presidential candidate in November last year. However, he changed his stance following Trump’s controversial remarks against Muslims. He is creating a hatred between Muslims and the United States of America.” In an interview with CNN in December, Al Habtoor also called the American tycoon “Islam’s biggest enemy.” “I view him as the biggest enemy of Islam. He is a man supporting ISIS [Islamic State of Iraq and Levant]. We have common enemy in the world and that is ISIS. And Trump is now encouraging them, this is what they want to hear,” Al Habtoor said. He also ruled out any possible business partnerships with the American. “No, I don’t trust him anymore… think he has damaged his brand in all Muslim countries,” he told CNN. Trump is currently the Republican Party’s main nominee for the upcoming US Presidential elections and is likely to faceoff Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton 0 Comments
