UAE Declares Jan 1 Holiday For Private, Govt Sector
Employees will get one-day off to mark New Year’s and resume work on Jan 2.

Public and private sectors in the UAE will have a holiday on Tuesday, January 1, 2013, to mark New Year’s Day, stated a circular issued by Humaid Al Qatami, minister of education and chairman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources today.
Saqr Ghobash, minister of labour, has also issued a decision that designates Tuesday, January 1, 2013 as a paid holiday for the private sector in the UAE. Work will resume on Wednesday, January 2.
Al Qatami congratulated citizens and residents of the United Arab Emirates on this occasion.
