Private sector employees in the UAE will get one day off to mark the Hijri New Year, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) announced.

Sunday, August 23 will be a paid leave for all employees working in private sector establishments and facilities across the UAE, it said.

Earlier, the UAE’s Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) announced that Sunday, August 23, will be a holiday for all federal government employees in the country to mark the occasion.

According to a decree issued by the UAE cabinet last year, all public and private sector employees have the same number of public holidays.
