Federal government and ministry employees will work from 9am to 2pm, according to a resolution issued on Sunday by Humaid Mohammad Al Qutami, Minister of Education and chairman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, official news agency WAM reported. The first day of the Muslim holy month will be on June 29, it was officially announced by the Sharjah Planetarium at the Department of Culture and Information last week. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, when Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. The fasting hours this year are expected to last for 15 hours and 15 minutes at the start of Ramadan and reach 14 hours and 55 minutes by the end of the month.
