Home GCC UAE UAE announces reduced private sector working hours for Ramadan The holy month is expected to begin this weekend by Staff Writer May 24, 2017 Private sector working hours will be reduced in the UAE for the holy month of Ramadan, the country’s Ministry of Emiratisation and Human Resources has announced. Working hours will be reduced by two hours per day without impacting wages, the ministry said. Yesterday, the country also announced reduced public sector working hours for Ramadan. The official working hours for government employees will be from 9am to 2pm, according to state news agency WAM. Bahraini astronomer Waheeb Al Nasser said earlier this month that Ramadan would last for 29 days this year, ending on Saturday, June 24. Eid Al-Fitr is expected to fall on Sunday, June 25.
