Home GCC UAE UAE authorities issue guidelines on applying for amnesty as Dec deadline looms Following the amnesty period, those found with expired visas face fines of up to Dhs315 per week by Aarti Nagraj December 6, 2020 The UAE has urged expatriates whose residence and visit visas expired before March 1 to make use of the amnesty and leave the country without any penalties before the end of this month. Taking to Twitter, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) issued guidelines on how people can apply for the amnesty. The amnesty, which had an initial deadline of August, was extended until the end of this year and covers all financial fines related to the Emirates ID cards, work permits, as well as the waiver of all administrative restrictions. They will also have to pay Dhs250 when they leave the country. Guidelines * Book an air ticket to travel before the December 31 deadline * Bring the passport and air ticket to the airport * For expired visit visa holders heading back from Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah airports, they must arrive at the airport six hours prior to departure.
