Home Industry Hospitality UAE-based Time Hotels set to open first Qatari property The 102-room Time Rako hotel is slated to open in Q2 2017 by Aarti Nagraj April 9, 2017 UAE-based Time Hotel Management is set to launch its first Qatari hotel in Doha later this year, it has revealed. Time Rako, a four-star, 102-key property, will be located in the Al Wakra district. The hotel offers rooms and suites of various configurations, with three equipped for guests with special needs, a statement said. In terms of amenities, guests can access a 24-hour fitness and leisure centre with spa treatments, and a 24-hour dining restaurant with a capacity of 90 covers, which will feature deli, buffet and à la carte options. The hotel will also have a specialty seafood restaurant with outdoor terrace and open-style kitchen, with the capacity for 84 covers and both indoor and outdoor seating options. On the rooftop is a lounge bar with an outdoor terrace, which will be able to seat over 106 guests. The hotel will also offer three multipurpose rooms with the banqueting facility having the capacity to cater for up to 500 guests. Time Rako is slated to open its doors in Q2 2017, the statement added. Mohamed Awadalla, CEO, Time Hotels said: “Qatar is a thriving country with a fast-paced hospitality industry, which presents new opportunities for Time Hotels to grow its presence. Expansion is the main driver of our business development plan for 2017 and there will be new openings taking place throughout the year in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Fujairah and Ajman. “Our current pipeline of hotels and residences meets the demands of multiple markets by offering a high-quality hotel or serviced apartment for a market segment that is currently under-represented in the regional market,” he added. Earlier this month, Time Hotels revealed plans to open 10 new properties across the Middle East before the end of 2018. The planned properties in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt will include hotels and serviced apartment complexes, the company said.
