The committee, which was set up to determine the starting date of Ramadan, announced this after a meeting on Tuesday night. Ramadan is the month when Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. The fasting hours this year are expected to last for 15 hours and 15 minutes at the start of Ramadan and reach 15 hours and 5 minutes by the end of the month, Sharjah Planetarium said in a report. During the holy month, both public and private sector workers will have shorter working hours. Federal government and ministry employees will work from 9am to 2pm, while working hours will be reduced by two hours with no reduction in salaries for private sector workers. Planetarium authorities have also said that the first day of Eid Al Fitr is likely to fall on Friday, July 17. 0 Comments
