The cuts follow similar measures announced last month in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to make hotel pricing more competitive. Read: Abu Dhabi cuts tourism and municipality fees at hotels Under the degree, by Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, who is also a member of the UAE Supreme Council, the tourist fee collected by hotels will be reduced from 10 per cent to 7 per cent of the value of each invoice from July 1. The cut will be effective until December 31. Ajman aims to welcome 700,000 hotel guests a year under its Vision 2021. The director general of Ajman’s Department of Tourism Development, Saleh Mohammed Al Jazairi said the decision would encourage more tourists to visit Ajman and experience its malls, beaches and markets. Attractions include the Al Zorah development, which opened for mangrove kayak tours last year, and an adjacent Oberoi hotel.
