Home GCC UAE UAE to hold first annual meeting for 2071 plan in September Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will chair the meetings by Staff Writer June 4, 2017 The UAE Cabinet has announced it will hold an annual meeting every September across all federal and local government entities to discuss the country’s UAE Centennial 2071 goals and strategy. The annual meetings will be dedicated to reviewing development challenges and discussing the country’s objectives over the next five decades, according to UAE state news agency WAM. Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will chair the meetings, which will involve both workshops and brainstorming session held over a two-day period. Over the first day attendees, including Executive Councils from across the country, will discuss national development subjects such as youth, housing, Emiratisation, media, technology, national identity, education, health, the law system and environment. The second day will see attendees discuss the UAE’s position for the coming five decades including its economy, infrastructure, geopolitical position and soft power. “We will start communicating with all federal and local government entities in the country in the coming period in order to prepare for the meeting in September, and to adopt a focussed business agenda that reflects the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid,” said Mohammed Al Gergawi, minister of cabinet affairs and the future. “The agenda will include several new ideas, and initiatives that aim to contribute to the success of ‘UAE Centennial 2071’. Task forces will be assigned to follow up on initiatives and projects in various fields include social, economic, environmental, developmental, knowledge-based, infrastructure and more sectors.” The UAE Centennial 2071 plan was launched by Sheikh Mohammed last month. They include establishing the government of the UAE as the best in the world “with a long-term vision and inspirational leadership that anticipates”, according to Dubai Media Office. 0 Comments
