Home Industry Retail UAE online fashion platform Nisnass closing down, confirms Al Tayer Group The estimated final trading date will be July 16 by Aarti Nagraj June 15, 2020 UAE-based Al Tayer Group has confirmed that its online fashion platform Nisnass will be closing down. The estimated final trading date will be July 16, 2020, a statement from Al Tayer Group said. “After careful consideration, we have come to a decision to cease Nisnass operations,” the statement said. “As with many startups, we are compelled to continuously review our trajectory and focus our resources towards achieving our mission in the most effective way. Nisnass has played an instrumental role in our evolutionary journey and has valuably contributed to the maturity of our organisation and the growth of our digital team.” Nisnass was established by Al Tayer Insignia – the group’s retail business – in January 2018 as a premiere mobile-first brand focussed towards Gen Z and millennial shoppers. Featuring international brands such as Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Gap, Nike and Puma, the dual language (Arabic and English) app had products catering to the teen and young adult market. Offering fast delivery options (two hours within Dubai, next day in the UAE, 2-4 days in the GCC and 3-6 days international shipping), the site was launched following Al Tayer’s foray into the online fashion market with Ounass.com in 2016. “Our mission since inception has been to champion digital innovation by catering to evolving consumer shopping habits,” the statement said. “Our next step will be to redirect our talent, absolute focus and resources into accelerating the successful growth of Ounass as the leader in the Middle East online luxury sphere; solidifying our position as the region’s go-to luxury shopping destination,” it added. Al Tayer Group is one of the largest luxury retailers in the Middle East, with operations across the GCC. It currently operates nearly 200 stores across the region.
