He also congratulated Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed on assuming the presidency of the UAE, wishing him success in leading his country. Narendra Modi added that he looks forward to working in the coming period to enhance bilateral ties in all domains. In turn, the UAE President extended his gratitude and hailed the Indian community’s contribution to the building and progress of the UAE since its establishment, official news agency WAM reported. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was a widely respected statesman who worked tirelessly for the people. The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs. In February, the two countries had signed the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement to set in motion a new period of strategic cooperation between them. India ranks as the UAE’s number one trading partner for non-oil exports, accounting for nearly 14 per cent of the UAE’s total non-oil exports globally.
