The nation was named the most desirable to live in by the Arab Youth Survey. The results of the survey comprise responses from 3,600 young people aged between 18 and 24 living in 53 cities across 18 different countries spread in the Middle East and North Africa. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai commended the country’s achievement in retaining its spot as the most preferred destination for young Arabs. He said the UAE will continue to be open and inviting to all Arabs and will work to help them achieve their dreams. It was followed by the US (19 per cent), Canada (19 per cent), Qatar (14 per cent) and the UK (13 per cent). Qatar appeared in the top five preferred countries for the first time in eight years, which follows from its successful hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The US was also ranked as the country that had the most influence on the demographic. These indicators, which account for 30 per cent of such global indexes, see the UAE excelling in several essential areas, including education, environment, climate change, security and safety, cybersecurity, infrastructure, flexibility of regulations, prosperity, and governance.
