UAE reports 553 new Covid-19 cases, death toll rises to 174

The UAE reported 553 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, taking the total number of cases in the country to 16,793.
The new cases were reported after an additional 41,000 tests were conducted by the Ministry of Health and Prevention. The new cases identified are receiving treatment, a statement said.

The ministry also reported nine coronavirus deaths, taking the total death toll in the country to 174. The deceased, belonging to different nationalities, suffered from pre-existing chronic illnesses, the ministry said.
The UAE also announced 265 new recoveries from the virus after receiving the necessary treatment, taking the total number of recoveries in the country to 3,837.
Also, @mohapuae announced that nine people of different nationalities who tested positive for COVID-19 died due to complications. This brings the total death toll to 174. The Ministry of Health and Prevention expressed sincere condolences to the families of the deceased.

The ministry called upon the public to adhere to precautionary health guidelines in the country, particularly concerning social distancing, to help curb the spread of the virus.
