According to the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, the patient was stable and under medical care. The Ministry disclosed that the four cases reported earlier within a Chinese family were still under medical care and stable. The Ministry added that there was no cause for concern, and the health care system in the country was resilient enough to combat the disease. The UAE is adhering to WHO’s directives in dealing with the cases detected, the statement said. The Ministry has urged the public to depend on official sources – approved media entities and social media accounts – to glean information and avoid paying heed to rumors. In light of the recent coronavirus in China, Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways has suspended its flights between Beijing and Nagoya due to low travel demand, but otherwise continued to operate normal flights to China. “Extensive measures have been adopted by medical and aviation authorities in China and the United Arab Emirates, and Etihad Aviation Group is fully compliant with the guidance of the Abu Dhabi Health Authority, the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and stands ready to take more actions based on informed advice” – Etihad said in a statement. A 44-year-old Chinese male from Wuhan died in the Philippines on February 1 from the novel coronavirus, the first death recorded outside of China, the World Health Organization said on Sunday.
