In light of the current adverse weather conditions, the National Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA), the Ministry of Interior and the National Centre for Meteorology held a special media briefing on July 28, at 4:30 pm. They assured everyone during the briefing that ” despite the heavy rain and volatile weather conditions, which caused floods in some areas, no casualties or severe injuries have been reported. Police, rescue and ambulance teams are continuously exerting all efforts to secure and protect people and properties and regulate traffic flawlessly. The center communicates regularly with relevant authorities and all repercussions are dealt with quickly and professionally, as preserving the safety of people and property is a top priority,” they added. Meanwhile, in Fujairah, the Dubai Police emergency team joined rescue operations to help people affected by heavy rains. It issued the same notice to private sector establishments as well.
