Fog was recorded over Ras Al Khor Road (Dubai), Abu Dhabi International Airport, as well as engulfing Al Shamkha, Al Haffar, and Arjan areas in the capital emirate. Meanwhile, patches of mist and fog were also observed over Al Bateen Executive Airport.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reported foggy and misty conditions across the coastal and internal areas.
The weather department also issued a fog alert, urging motorists to exercise caution.
The country recorded its lowest temperature of 10.8°C in Jabal Jais at 1.45am local time.
The weather will become fair to partly cloudy at times, the NCM said in its daily weather bulletin.
Temperatures will tend to rise and will vary between 13 degrees celsius to 26 degrees in the coastal areas, between 9 degrees and 29 degrees in the internal areas and touch lows of 6 degrees in the mountains, with highs reaching 20 degrees.
Fog and mist formation over coastal and internal areas is also expected on Thursday morning, the NCM predicted.
