UAE weather update: Fresh winds, dust storm expected; NCM issues alert

Fresh winds reaching speeds of 45kph are expected in select parts of the country until noon on Monday, March 22.

Winds may result in dust storms that may impede horizontal visibility in the Eastern internal and coastal areas, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) tweeted.

Meanwhile, overcast conditions at times with fair to partly cloudy and hazy are expected during daytime.

“The sea will be rough, becoming moderate gradually by evening Westward in the Arabian Gulf and rough in Oman Sea, becoming moderate by late night,” the NCM said in a bulletin.

However, intermittent overcast conditions will cascade into the week, continuing until Friday.

Temperatures will hover between 19-31°C in the coastal areas, 16-35°C amid the internal zones and 12-22°C between the mountains. Meanwhile, humidity will linger between 20-90 per cent in the coastal areas, 15-85 per cent in the internal areas, 10-60 per cent in the mountains.

The UAE recorded its lowest temperature of 11°C in Raknah (Al Ain) at 6.15am local time.
