Home GCC UAE UAE’s ADNOC Distribution trains 254 Emirati employees for leadership roles There were 75 women and 179 men trained for leadership roles in the company by Varun Godinho August 25, 2020 ADNOC Distribution said on Monday that it has trained 254 Emirati employees to take on leadership roles across its service stations. A leadership programme called ‘Tomooh’, the Arabic word for ambition, developed in collaboration with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) and led by its training arm, the Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT), has trained 75 women and 179 men for the leadership roles. The students underwent virtual classroom sessions covering topics including leadership and management, interpersonal skills, finance, operations, human resources and sales and marketing. Also, they undertook onsite training at service stations across the UAE, reported news Agency WAM. It has been a pleasure to work in partnership with HCT, who provide a wealth of expertise in creating a tailored programme of development for our local talent, to support them in their career progression,” said Ahmed Al Shamsi, acting CEO of ADNOC Distribution. Meanwhile Dr. Abdullatif AlShamsi, President and CEO, HCT added, “Our partnership with ADNOC Distribution reflects our commitment to training and developing the local work-force, we equip them with skills that provide a gamut of career advancement opportunities. In-line with the progressive Emiratisation policies of the UAE Government, ‘Tomooh’ falls within our ‘fourth-generation’ framework which aims to instill skills of the 4th Industrial Revolution among Emiratis.” A second enrollment in the ‘Tomooh’ programme is expected to commence in 2021. Last year, the UAE launched a new job portal to encourage Emiratisation. The ‘UAE Jobs Bank’ will encourage UAE nationals to apply directly for employment opportunities offered by the public and private sector.
