Dubai carrier Emirates will resume operating from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport from April 12, Dubai Airports tweeted.

“This development follows the suspension of all inbound and outbound passenger flights, and the transit of airline passengers in the UAE effective as of 11.59 pm on March 24 and until further notice. Aside from the aforementioned Emirates airline operations, only vital cargo and emergency evacuation flights will operate from DXB and DWC during this period,” a statement on Dubai Airports’ website read.

The airline had obtained approvals to transport outbound passengers from the UAE to some destinations starting April 6. Select outbound flights covered Zurich and Brussels (until April 11), Paris (until April 12) and London Heathrow, Frankfurt (until April 19). However, these flights were being operated from Dubai International Airport Terminal 2.

Stringent entry restrictions remain in place at these destinations as well as others across the world. Meanwhile, passengers were advised to check ongoing restrictions before travel.

All Emirates aircraft will go through enhanced cleaning and disinfection processes in Dubai after each journey, the statement added.

On March 22, Emirates said that it will be suspending “most” of its passenger operations from Wednesday, March 25, due to the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak.
