The 24th season of the celebration of international cultures is set to open on October 29 in Dubai. It is due to run until April 4, 2020. One of Dubai’s most popular attractions, the latest edition of the Global Village will reportedly boast more than 3,500 shops and restaurants representing the cultures of 78 separate nations across its many pavilions. It is also claimed this season will boast no fewer than 20,000 separate culture and entertainment shows in total during its six-month duration. Fireworks displays are also scheduled for each Thursday and Friday the Global Village is open. Data from online travel marketplace Wego reveals Dubai is the fifth-most hashtagged city on social media site Instagram, with more than 79 million hashtags in summer 2019 alone. The data from Mastercard’s Global Destination Cities Index (GDCI) shows visitors spent an average of $553 per person per day in the emirate, far ahead of second-place Paris ($296 per day).
