Home Expo 2020 Video: Expo 2020 Dubai site takes shape To date more than 16 million man hours of work have been completed at the site by Staff Writer May 23, 2018 The Expo 2020 Dubai team has released a video showcasing progress at the event site with less than 900 days to go. Construction is well advanced on the expo’s three theme districts, foundations are complete and buildings continue to rise from the ground, the event organisers said. To date more than 16 million man hours of work have been completed at the site, with 6,100 cubic metres of concrete laid per week. In addition, 95km of pipe had been laid for infrastructure works. Contractors at the site include including Al-Futtaim Carillion, Khansaheb, Besix, Arabtec and Tristar Engineering. Al Naboodah Construction completed early works. All major design elements have now been finished, after the unveiling of the Al Wasl Plaza. The sustainability pavilion, which aims to be self-sustainable for water and energy, is due for completion in October 2019. Expo 2020 Dubai awarded Dhs10.8bn ($2.94bn) of construction contracts last year and Dhs411m ($111.8m) of non-construction contracts. Last month, Luxembourg became the first country to break ground on its Expo 2020 pavilion.
