Heavy rain and stormy weather persisted across parts of the UAE on Monday, with authorities urging residents to remain cautious.
The National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) reported heavy rains across Sharjah, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Al Ain.
In its daily weather update, the NCM said the weather was caused by an “extension of a surface low pressure from the east, accompanied by an upper air trough of low pressure”.
It forecast cloudy weather conditions with humidity set to increase by night and Tuesday morning over some coastal areas.
Moderate to fresh winds, and strong at times with the clouds, will cause blowing dust and sand during daytime.
Temperatures will vary between 24-42°C in the coastal areas, between 22-45°C in the internal areas and 20-31°C in the mountains.
Videos posted on social media showed flooding in parts of the country, following rainfall on Sunday.
Cloudy weather conditions have also been forecast for the rest of the week.
