A massive fire that broke out at the Makkah-Jeddah highway late on Monday was brought under control early on Tuesday, officials have confirmed.
The blaze erupted after a petroleum tanker was involved in a road accident.
Civil Defences forces in Makkah confirmed on early on Tuesday that the tanker and 10 vehicles caught fire, but added that there were no injuries.
A video posted to the Makkah region’s official Twitter account showed the fire stretching across the side of the highway.
While cars are seen driving by, vehicles were later diverted from the highway.
