Watch: Micro Focus joins Jaguar Racing as technical partner

On February 17, 2021, Jaguar Racing announced that it has partnered with Micro Focus ahead of season seven of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

The enterprise software giant joined as Jaguar Racing’s official digital transformation, business resiliency and analytics partner. Micro Focus will provide support to Jaguar Racing’s push for more points, podiums and wins on the racetrack.

“Formula E is a real-world testbed for Jaguar with its “Race to Innovate” mission towards the future of electrification,” said Anas Jwaied, vice president and general manager for Emerging Markets at Micro Focus.

The 2020/21 Formula E season seven is the first after the all-electric series was granted full world championship status by the FIA – the sport’s governing body. This will be the third year for the teams to be racing with the futuristic Gen2 race cars.

Initially, Micro Focus will provide technology from its product group, Vertica, which delivers high-performance, advanced analytics and machine learning to ensure the Jaguar team performs at top speed for winning results.

Micro Focus also conducted a cyber resilience assessment workshop to help the team identify any potential risks and gaps in their cybersecurity posture, and it also plans to deliver tools and support to help accelerate the team’s software development.

The first two races of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship occurred in the Middle East region, held in Diriyah in Saudi Arabia on February 26 and 27 2021. “We are very proud to be part of this winning team,” Jwaied concluded.
