After an hour of downtime, users took to social media to suggest that WhatsApp started working again. People took to social media platforms such as Twitter to inform that they were unable to send and receive messages. The outage had affected both personal as well as group chats. Users could continue to access their conversations on the app but could not send any new messages. According to service status website Downdetector, users began reporting issues with WhatsApp on the morning of October 25, with more than 12,000 complains reported on the website by 8.30am.
