Home UAE Abu Dhabi Wizz Air Abu Dhabi to launch new flights to central Asian country Flights to the two cities in Kazakhstan are expected to commence from May 2021 by Varun Godinho March 14, 2021 Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has announced that it will operate new flights between Abu Dhabi and the two cities of Almaty and Nur Sultan in Kazakhstan. These flights by the UAE’s national airline are expected to commence from May 2021. It takes the total number of destinations serviced by the airline up to 15. The flight to Almaty will be operated twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, while those to the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur Sultan, will also be undertaken twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi reportedly has the youngest fleet composed of four brand-new Airbus A321neo aircraft, offering the lowest fuel burn, emissions and noise footprint. Last month, the carrier confirmed that it would commence flights to Egypt, weeks after it conducted its inaugural flight to Athens on January 15 from the Abu Dhabi International Airport. It has also launched an automated refund process that handles cash conversion refund requests within one week. For passengers whose flights have been cancelled, based on the option selected by the customer, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will automatically refund 120 per cent of the original fare in airline credit, or provide passengers the option to receive a 100 per cent cash refund to their original payment method, or provide the chance to rebook for free.
