The emirate’s rail projects include extensions to the red and green lines of the Dubai Metro and an expansion of the Dubai Tram. The 2020 Red Line extension will see the Dubai Metro extended to the Expo 2020 site via Discovery Gardens and Dubai Investment Park, with a further route planned to Al Maktoum International Airport. Younus said work on the section will begin in the coming months with the RTA evaluating tenders from five firms. An additional 20km extension to the Green Line will stretch underground and overground covering areas including Dubai Festival City and Academic City. The Dubai Tram will also be extended by 5km to areas including Madinat Jumeirah and the Burj Al Arab. 0 Comments
