The seventh edition of World Art Dubai will commence from Wednesday, April 7, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

The four-day event, widely regarded as the region’s most accessible and affordable retail art fair, will showcase over 2,000 pieces under the theme ‘discovering new perspectives’.

The artwork has been created by both emerging and established talent culled from over 250 artists and galleries from more than 27 countries.

Brand new features at this year’s show include robotic, sustainable, and fashion art installations; a collaboration with the Theatre of Digital Art; The Art of Dance; photography and art workshops for kids, as well as a special collection by Dubai Police.

“With stringent measures in place to ensure the safety of all, we’re looking forward to welcoming returning and first-time visitors to the show. As a completely inclusive event, we’re the ideal place for those who are just starting out their art collection to secure pieces they fall in love with, as well as get all the advice they need to begin,” said Trixie LohMirmand, executive vice president, exhibitions and events management at DWTC.

“Seasoned buyers will also be wowed with the variety on show, with pieces suitable for personal or corporate use like hotels, restaurants and more.”

This year’s event will include participation from countries that weren’t previously represented at the event including Israel, Malaysia and Uzbekistan.

There will be several Emirati artists present including Mouza Al Mansoori returning once again following a successful first exhibition at World Art Dubai 2020.

Inspired by everyday things like music, film and nature, Mouza’s small canvases are abstract and colourful and visitors can watch her paint artwork live at her stand across the four days.

Emirati artist Amal Mohammed is also exhibiting exclusively at World Art Dubai this year with her pieces that are inspired by the sea, mythical creatures, and feminine energy. Her hero piece, ‘Whirlpool’ takes its inspiration from the Emirati folklore tale, Salama’s Whirlpool, with beautiful and colourful sea creatures depicted.
Meanwhile Russian artist Julia Smolenkova is exhibiting for the fourth time having been one of the top sellers at last year’s show. From Ukraine, OL’SVOL’D will combine art and meditation with his work created during a meditative state. His collection ‘Tsvetnosts’ demonstrate the qualitative expansion of human consciousness.

An area within the premises will also be dedicated to street art, Urban Art DXB, which will also host a live street art jam with two teams competing to win a free space at next year’s show.

There will be adult and kid photography workshops conducted by Nikon, pottery classes for kids by Al Jalila Children’s Centre, as well as the casual art tea talks where visitors can chat and learn from experts.

Inkopia will be on hand to provide customisable pieces of digital art with their VR printing service that prints magnets with a choice of photo. AI NORN, the company behind one of the world’s leading robot artists is making its regional debut by transforming visitors photographs into art by using analysis of colours and shapes, mixing colours then replicating them with brush strokes.

For visitors who are more interested in street art, customisable urban art by established graffiti artists will be available by applying stencil overlays on canvas.

A collaboration with the revolutionary Theatre of Digital Art takes viewers on a digital journey that combines high-end technologies with classical art and visual effects. The show will feature two pieces, Monet to Kandinsky and The Impressionists.

The event will be held in halls 1 and 2 between 1-9pm each day, except Saturday which runs until 8pm. Tickets for the event start at Dhs20 for adults, Dhs10 for children.
